Outside of work, tell us about you
I've been lucky enough to live and work in Malta and the US, but now settled back in England
I recently moved out of London and down to Folkestone. It's reignited my love for nature and the outdoors and kicked me into a more active lifestyle, now a frequent Padel player, occasional paddle boarder and often exploring the South Downs and Kent Coast. I'm also a cinephile, f1 fan, and fan of most other sports.
What did you want to be as a child?
According to my mum, a dustbin man by day and a burglar by night. You've got to seriously question the parents.
What is your fondest memory since doing recruitment?
There's two that stand out, one was finding an absolute Rockstar JavaScript specialist through github and helping him move from a small town in Germany to a lead position at Blinkbox.
He didn't realise it at the time but he was regarded one of the strongest developers in the industry. A few months in, and still within rebate he called me as a silicon valley startup were trying to convince him to join as CTO.
He ended up staying at Blinkbox for a bit longer but went on to a number of high profile roles.
The other was working in California where I was part of a 6 person office, fondly remembering every milestone along the way, from the office celebrating a $300k month, to leaving with it being 50+ heads.
Favourite TV Series/ Film
This changes quite regularly but One Tree Hill and Smallville are two series that remain up there even as the years pass and newer things are produced.
I'd also have Breaking Bad, and The Wire in the top few.
If you could have one superpower what would it be and why?
The ability to fly. I have a phobia of heights, and I'm pretty sure that knowing that I could fly would alleviate that.
It'd mean cheaper and faster travel, and the ability to go and explore places that few others would have seen.
